little ol’ me?..

I’m Michelle. I hail from the Keystone State of Pennsylvania and grew up in a small town called Middletown, near Hershey. I relocated to Denver in 2007 after meeting a handsome, young lad in a pop-punk band. Shortly after the move, I pursued a career in Cosmetology. I feel as if I owe a lot of my creative flare to my parents. My mother would craft and sew til her fingers bled, while my dad was the handiest handy-man you’ve ever met. When I was young, I found a portfolio of my dad’s old sketches, and he told me he wishes he never stopped drawing. I always loved to draw, sketch & paint, and as a teen, I discovered makeup and hairstyling. It eventually evolved into my creative release.

I began my career as a free-lance makeup artist and later enrolled at the Aveda Institute Denver. During my studies, I worked alongside renown artists & stylists and also studied abroad in Tokyo, Japan. I have since had my work published throughout the country, and continue to participate in various shows, events & shoots.

In 2009, I established MK Beauty LLC. This allowed me to further pursue my career in freelance artistry. I have worked on various fashion shows, editorial shoots, film and photography sets. I thrive in a fast paced environment like the world of commercial & production. Collaborating with artists and clients from around the country and feeding in their energy is intoxicating and inspiring to me. No two days are ever the same, which is a wonderful challenge. It’s so rewarding when the efforts of the entire team come together into a finished product.

When I’m behind the chair, I love creating my guests’ vision and uplifting their self esteem in every sense. I am a certified educator through Aveda & Bumble and bumble for my cut and color expertise. My studies also include L’Oreal, Goldwell, Redken, Pravana and Hotheads Hair Extensions.

I’ve now been in the game for roughly 12 years and still enjoy every moment and opportunity. Let’s connect and collab!
